Fearlessly Spelunking At Bonnechere Caves – For The Cave You Fear To Enter Holds the Treasure You Seek

While camping at Bon Echo this summer we decided to adventure to a place that we’ve been wanting to visit for a while.  Located just outside Eganville and an hour north of Bon Echo Provincial Park, we decided to check out the natural wonder that is Bonnechere Caves.  Entrance to the caves normally costs $20/per person but we were lucky enough to find a 2 for 1 deal on Wagjag. Unfortunately the caves are not self guided (probably for the best as they are still in pristine condition)  but the tours are pretty interesting and the guide we had was very funny and entertaining.

The tour lasts about an hour as it starts off with some information about the area and you get to learn about fossils (if you didn’t know what a Cephalopod was before taking this tour you will know after!)

The cave itself is a pretty amazing natural wonder and luckily the caves have smooth walkways that they’ve set up so pretty much anyone can take the tour.  Another cool thing about this place, they have done a few weddings and they also host dinner events in the caves.

Bonnechere Caves

Definitely a cool spot worth checking out in Ontario!

Until next time!
